Ashburton District Council has had plans prepared for the future development of some of Ashburton District’s Small Villages. The plans provide a blueprint for the future development of Hinds, Mayfield, Mount Somers and Barrhill and form the starting point for the District Plan Review.
Principles such as a compact village layout, encouragement of walking / cycling links within the villages and a quality environment are incorporated into the plans to ensure the villages continue to be good places to live.
