              District Plan Review (Proposed District Plan)

               

              ASHBURTON PROPOSED DISTRICT PLAN - HEARINGS

              Hearings on the Proposed District Plan began on the 23rd February and are expected to run until mid 2012. The hearing dates are specified in the table below and will be confirmed no later than 2 weeks before each hearing.  The proposed schedule is based on the most up to date information and resources available.

              The hearings will provide the opportunity for submitters, who indicated in their submission that they wished to be heard, to present evidence in support of their submission.

              A letter will be sent to submitters who made submissions on the topic to which the hearing relates no later than 2 weeks before the hearing to confirm the hearing date together with various documents specific to that hearing including:

              -     S42A report, which provides an analysis of submissions and recommendations to the Hearings Panel and changes sought to the Proposed District Plan

              -     Preface report, which provides an explanation of the process in preparing the District Plan

              -     Procedures/ guidelines for the Hearings, which form the basis for how hearings will be run and provide tips to submitters in preparing for the hearing

              Each S42A report will be sent to those persons/ groups who made submissions on the topic that the report relates to, as well as being available to download from the table below no later than 2 weeks before each hearing.

              Background

              The Proposed District Plan was publicly notified on the 21st April 2010 with over 650 submissions received by the Council.  A summary of the submissions was prepared and notified on the 20th October 2010, which allowed certain persons to make further submissions on the submissions received in a 3 week period that ended on the 11th November 2010.  Recommendations will be made on the submissions and further submissions in each of the Section 42A reports.
