The second 'It's Our Place' survey opens today, and people in the Ashburton District are being asked to select which topics and issues they think are most important for the district.
During the first survey, 660 people told Ashburton District Council what they thought should happen in the district over the next 10 years. Now, Council wants the community to choose which of those ideas they think are most important.
Council Community Relations Manager Vincie Billante says the 'It's Our Place' campaign has brought many ideas to light that will help Council decide what it should include in its draft Long Term Plan.
"We have collected hundreds of suggestions and ideas from all corners of the district since the campaign began last month. Now, we are beginning to hone in on those ideas, and we need people to look at what has been suggested and tell us what they think is essential for the future of Ashburton.
"Anyone can have their say, whether they filled out the first survey or not. We are welcoming feedback from everyone."
The short survey is now available online at www.ItsOurPlace.com. It can also be accessed through a new app, Antenno, which is available to download free from the App Store and Google Play.
Residents can also choose to fill out a hard copy of the survey, which is available from the Council offices, Ashburton library, EA Networks Centre and a number of businesses around the district.
"The feedback from this survey will help construct what is included in the final survey that will open next month. Once that final survey is completed, Council will have some very clear ideas of what it should include in the draft Long Term Plan. That plan will then be put out for public consultation early next year and people will be able to say whether they agree with it or not."
The second 'It's Our Place' survey is open from today until Friday 10 November.
