Local businesses and organisations can now use the district's latest economic data to inform their business strategies, following the release of the Infometrics 2016 Ashburton District Annual Economic Profile.
The resource is now available from the Council website, providing the district with reliable and comprehensive data.
Community Relations Manager Vincie Billante says the profile is a wealth of information for local businesses to use.
"The 2016 Economic Profile shows reliable economic indicators for our district including data on employment, business and population growth, productivity and tourism. We are very pleased to provide this information to the community and hope local organisations will utilise it to help inform their business plans."
Infometrics is a national company compiling data from a range of sources including Statistics New Zealand, Inland Revenue Department and Paymark. Council purchased the right to this information from Infometrics last year.
The Economic Profile includes comparisons between Ashburton District and other New Zealand districts whose information is publically available.
