Ashburton District Council is reminding residents and business owners to have their say in a survey of options for its rubbish and recycling collection service if they have not already done so.
With the survey deadline looming next Monday 5 May, Council's Group Manager Service Delivery, Neil McCann, says now is the time for people to get their survey back to Council by either submitting it via the Council website or posting it back.
"The response to our survey has been great so far and we hope they will keep coming in over the next week," says Mr McCann.
The survey form was delivered to all households in the district on 10 April.
Mr McCann says the survey is a valuable opportunity for people to let Council know what their preferences are regarding rubbish and recycling.
"The results of the survey will be a key part of the information Council will consider, so it is important for people to let Council know what their overall preferences are," says Mr McCann.
Once Council has evaluated all available information (including the survey results), it will select a preferred option and will carry out a full consultation with the community, including seeking people's ideas and comments on that option in June/July this year.
