Grahams Road work underway

Tuesday 21 February, 2017

Ashburton District Council is encouraging residents to be cautious when travelling between Tinwald and Lake Hood during the next three months as road works on Grahams Road get underway today.

Council’s contractor ACL have begun road rehabilitation work along 2.6km of the road from the 50/100 kilometre speed signs towards Lake Hood. The work is expected to be completed in early May.

“This is an extensive project which will include temporary lane closures and a 30km speed restriction, so we urge motorists to drive carefully, especially with traffic needing to slow and stop at times,” Council Roading Manager Brian Fauth says. “We appreciate the community’s cooperation during this time and hope it does not cause too much inconvenience for residents.”

The road works will include driveway construction and chipsealing, road widening and the installation of a cycleway/footpath on behalf of the Lake Hood Extension project.

Mr Fauth adds resident’s access to their properties along the road may be temporarily affected at times, but ACL will do their best to minimise any inconvenience.

For any questions or to report concerns, please contact ACL Project Manager Tim Bain on 027 280 9194.
