EA Networks Centre wins Gold at the New Zealand Commercial Project Awards

Ashburton District Council’s EA Networks Centre has won gold at the 2016 New Zealand Commercial
Project Awards.

The win was announced last Friday in Auckland after the project had been entered in the Tourism and Leisure Project category by Naylor Love Construction, the company responsible for building the centre.

Ashburton Mayor Angus McKay says the victory is a testament to the project’s achievements and the hard work that went into building such an outstanding facility for the Ashburton community.

"The EA Networks Centre has been such a success in the community and this award recognises the quality of the Centre on a national level."

"We are honoured to have our new facility win such a prestigious award."

To win the award, the EA Networks Centre had to demonstrate outstanding design, and satisfy environmental and project cost demands. Judging for the award took place in February 2016, where Sports Facility Manager Steven Prescott and representatives from Naylor Love Construction, and architect company Warren and Mahoney guided two judges from the New Zealand Commercial Project Awards through the EA Networks Centre.

The Gold Award is another win for the EA Networks Centre, adding to the Supreme Concrete Sustainability Award it won in October last year at the NZCS Concrete Sustainability Awards.
