Ashburton Museum to host Research Your House Workshop

Local residents are invited to attend a workshop at the Ashburton Museum next month where they'll be shown how to research the history of their homes.

Residents will have the chance to sharpen their research skills and learn about the resources available to them at the Research Your House workshop being held at the Ashburton Art Gallery and Heritage Centre on Saturday 11 June.

"There's a story to tell in every house, no matter how grand or modest", says Ashburton Museum Director Tanya Robinson. "This is a great opportunity to learn from experts in the field, and uncover the secrets of your home."

The workshop has been developed with support from Ashburton Museum, Heritage New Zealand and Archives New Zealand and will feature a number of presentations on how to find information in the district archives. Morning tea will also be provided.

The Research Your House workshop is a free event. Numbers are limited, so residents are encouraged to RSVP early to secure their place by phoning the Museum on (03) 307 7890.

The workshop will run from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 11 June.
