Air conditioning unit expected to be installed in March

The installation of a replacement air conditioning unit for the upper level of the Ashburton Art Gallery and Heritage Centre is likely to start next month.

The new air conditioning unit will arrive in Christchurch on 27 February and then on to Ashburton to be installed.

The unit was sent from Italy where it was manufactured.

Commercial Manager James Webb says the arrival date is later than anticipated based on the timeframe the air conditioning consultant provided to Council earlier this year.

Despite this, Mr Webb is pleased the unit is in transit and he is keeping in regular contact with the suppliers and installers of the unit.

"All going well it should be arriving in Ashburton ready to be installed in the next couple of weeks."
