New Zealand Book Month at the Library

New Zealand Book Month will see the Ashburton Public library highlighting its great selection of New Zealand books, as well as hosting two events, with the help of the New Zealand Book Month team. 

 

Events include: 

 

An Afternoon with Peter Graham 

 

When: Sunday, 10 March 2013 at 2:30 pm 

 

Where: Ashburton Public Library, 180 Havelock Street, Ashburton 

 

Hear lawyer and true crime writer, Peter Graham talk about his acclaimed books Vile Crimes and So Brilliantly Clever; Parker, Hulme and the murder that shocked the world. Peter will talk about New Zealand’s most notorious murder, the case and his research. Don’t miss this free talk and the opportunity to ask the author questions of your own. Everyone is welcome and there is no need to book. 

 

Finding your Voice with Jenny Haworth - a workshop on various forms of non-fiction writing

 

When: Wednesday, 20 March 2013 at 6:30 pm. (2-21/2 hours) 

 

Where: Ashburton Public Library, 180 Havelock Street, Ashburton 

 

 

Jenny is well-known as both publisher and writer, having worked as a travel writer, freelance journalist, non-fiction writer and novelist. She has written for many New Zealand and international magazines and newspapers.

 

There is a small charge of $5 per participant. Please register at the Ashburton Public Library. Numbers are limited to 15.
