Ashburton District Council has welcomed an offer to take over the control and management of 2.3 hectares of land along with its historical buildings and structures from Ashburton’s Chinese community. 

Council Property Manager John Rooney says Council is very grateful for to descendants of the owners of the land, especially Mr Yep Ng and his family, who helped track down all the descendants.
