SOLID WASTE MANAGER
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the appointee will be responsible for a significant percentage of Council expenditure.
The key focus is on the management of significant contracts alongside work in the areas of community awareness and education on waste minimisation initiatives. This will involve working with a wide range of stakeholders and taking a leadership role in ensuring that the Council delivers a high level of service to the community.
In addition to a strong interest in waste minimisation and management, strong relationship and financial management skills are essential for this position.

WATER SERVICES CONTRACTS ENGINEER
This role has a strong operational focus overseeing the maintenance and operation of the District’s water services. The role will also involve the development and implementation of capital works and maintenance programs for these assets.
The role will have a strong in-field component working with a range of contractors and suppliers. In addition, the appointee will be a technical advisor and assist with the development of relevant strategies, policies and plans for the Water Services Department.
Candidates will bring to this role several years of experience in water services, an understanding of asset and contract management, likely gained within a local government environment.

ROADING ASSET MANAGEMENT OFFICER
Ashburton has the third longest network of roads in New Zealand covering over 2,600 kilometres of sealed and unsealed roads. The appointee will work closely with other team members ensuring that all Council’s Roading and Street Services assets are maintained and developed in accordance with cyclic renewal programmes and Activity Management Plans.
Key to this role will be providing competent professional advice, maintaining effective relationships with external agencies and effective project management. As this position is responsible for all NZ Land Transport Agency funding claims, the appointee must have an eye for detail, as well as strong computer and written skills.
Candidates are likely to have a relevant qualification and or background in asset management, engineering or accountancy.
