Need for Policy

Even though councils are restricted to only being able to do what the law says they can, not everything that they do is covered precisely by statute.

There will also be times when legislation calls for local policy to be developed. 

Code of Conduct Policy

The Ashurton District Council recently adopted a Code of Conduct Policy. This code of conduct provides guidance on the responsibilities and standards that are expected from the Mayor and the elected members of Ashburton District Council.
