Need for Policy

Even though councils are restricted to only being able to do what the law says they can, not everything that they do is covered precisely by statute.

There will also be times when legislation calls for local policy to be developed. 

Sensitive Expenditure Policy

The Ashurton District Council recently adopted a Sensitive Expenditure Policy.pdf Policy. This policy applies to all staff, contractors and elected members of the Ashburton District Council.

Dog Control Policy

The 2010 Dog Control Policyx.pdf has also been adopted.
