The overwhelming majority of residents also supported smokefree outdoor areas in childrens playgrounds, sports fields, courts, parks and reserves.
June 2011
Ashburton District Council revised its Smokefree Playgrounds and Sportsfields Policy on 14 April 2011 to include the Ashburton Skate Park.
The policy was launched on Queens Birthday weekend with a Smokefree Skate Jam run by Cheapskates Skate Skool.
