The 2009 Methven Community Strategic Plan has now closed for public consultation. We will now work through the submissions with the Methven Community Board to finalise the 2009 Methven Community Strategic Plan.  The first Methven Community Strategic Plan was developed in 1997 by the Methven community in a process facilitated by Ashburton District Council.  The plan has been the catalyst for much change in Methven and has, by any standards, been a resounding success.  The 2009 Methven Community Strategic Plan builds on the success of the previous plan.  Most of the actions from the original plan have been achieved – so the new plan provides ways to take that next leap to continue to develop Methven as a great place to live and visit. A series of workshops were held with the Methven community to develop the strategic plan.  These workshops helped to confirm the goals Methven has for the future and the specific actions of how Methven will get there.
