TrustPower Ashburton District Community Award
TrustPower, in partnership with the Ashburton District Council, wishes to recognise groups and organisations in the Ashburton District, that dedicate hours of voluntary time and energy every year in making the community a better place to live.
The TrustPower Ashburton District Community Awards will support and recognize the valuable contribution those groups make to the Ashburton District.

COMMUNITY HONOURS AWARDS - 2009
1. The Community Honours Award is a scheme under which an individual who has carried out meritorious voluntary community service in the Ashburton District may be rewarded publicly for their efforts.
2. Nominations are invited on a confidential basis, and should be accompanied by letters of support from individuals and/or community organisations.
The permission of the person nominated is not required at this stage, but will be obtained prior to an award being made.
3. Persons who have previously received a New Zealand or Royal Honour will generally not be eligible unless there are special circumstances.
Posthumous awards may be made within 12 months of a nominee’s death.
Service relating to a persons paid employment will not be considered.
4. There is no fixed number of awards to be made in any one year as this will depend on the quality of nominations received.
5. Any nominations not successful in any one year may be re-nominated in following years.
6. No restriction will be placed on the length of service in any category.
7. Please ensure that all details on the nomination form are completed.
Nominations close on Friday 30 October 2009.
The information provided will be considered, in confidence, by a special Council Selection Panel. The Award ceremony will be held in November.
